Hello, beautiful soul, and welcome to Meditate with Mandy. I’m Mandy, and I’m so honored to be sharing a moment of presence with you in the here and now.
Wherever you are, go ahead and get seriously, but also lightheartedly, cozy and comfy. Our meditation practice is one of ease and rest, and even though we’re building muscles and we’re strengthening awareness, we’re doing it in a way that feels like love.
So skip any agonizing postures and love your body.
When you’re ready, flutter those beautiful eyelids closed and take your deepest breath in of the day or night in through your nose and let it go through your mouth. Another one in through your nose and out through your mouth. In nose. Out mouth. In nose. A little passion. Out mouth. Last one like this. In nose. Hold at the top and out mouth.
Let it all go.
And now breathe in easy through your nose and out through your nose.
Relax your body.
Come right into this moment with me.
There is nowhere to be, nothing to do.
This is the most important thing you could possibly be doing on this Earth at this time.
So bravo.
Keep breathing in easy and out easy as you drop shoulders, smooth that forehead, unclench the fingers, the palms, let the grip go.
Inspect your body like a spiritual scientist hunting for tension.
And when you find it, give it the kiss of awareness, the deepest intimacy there is.
Witness it.
Breathe into it.
And know that you’re safe here.
Truly safe.
You’re mentally safe.
You’re emotionally safe.
You’re physically safe.
There’s no thought you can have that we can’t let go, that we can’t witness with ease.
And there’s no emotion that you can hold that we can’t love on, that we can’t witness with ease.
There’s no physical sensation, pain or tightness, no symptom that we can’t witness with love and with ease.
You’re safe.
Today we’re looking at one of my favorite emotions.
So underrated for witnessing.
We are patterned, most of us, most lineages, to compulsively try to discharge or get rid of this emotion. If we’re not discharging it and getting rid of it, we are holding it, letting it fester.
We might hoard it.
We might hide it.
But rarely do we want to be present with it.
And that’s okay.
That’s completely normal.
And that’s why you and I are here, my sweet friend, why we were born onto this Earth: to perhaps be the first in our entire lineage to witness, to hold space with, to be with patterns that just want a little look.
So what is this emotion?
It’s our old friend:
Anger.
Now, anger can fester in any old place, but it often settles right in the chest, center of the chest, our heart chakra.
It’s a protector.
It notifies us when boundaries have been violated, when innocence has been mishandled.
And to witness anger is to have a source for immense power.
Anger is perhaps one of the most empowering emotions.
So rather than try to discharge it with violence or outbursts, or hoard it by simmering, broiling, and letting it fester into physical symptoms, today we witness it with honor, with joy, with respect.
So let’s bring our awareness to the center of our chest and lightly rest it there, witnessing our chest rise and fall like all great empires.
And we don’t need a moment or a memory or a trigger.
If there’s one already here, wonderful.
But if not, we’re simply going to allow the color red to become perceptible in the center of our chest.
If we’re visual, we visualize.
If we’re feelers, we feel what red feels like.
And get creative and let it rise into the center of your chest as you breathe easy in through your nose and out through your nose.
You might feel some sensations here.
You might even start to feel angry.
You magical empath, you.
You’re in wonderful company if that’s the case, but it’s also okay if you feel squat.
As the red pulses in your chest, hovers or flickers, we’re going to begin to inhale through our nose as we’ve been doing, the color red, as if we’re siphoning it in from our chest into our nostrils and then back into our body.
A closed loop.
We pull that red energy up from our chest into our nostrils, where it comes back to our chest.
Inhale red.
Closed circuit.
Bring it up from the center of your chest through your nostrils, and deposit it back into the center of your chest as you exhale.
Feel that little hum.
Fingers might start to twitch a little bit.
Is the heart rate quickening?
What are we tapping into here?
In the new paradigm that you are so beautifully welcoming in for all of humanity, thank you, anger and rage are a closed loop.
We don’t invoke them on the external world, nor do we use them to punish ourselves.
But we do notice that they open a nervous system response of heightened activation.
Curious.
What this red energy of anger is when we tap into it more deeply is a source of quickened awareness.
And in its highest expression, we have the ability to transmute it and utilize it as vitality.
We unlock a store of energy that we can tap into, and then we integrate that energy to further ground ourselves and activate integrity.
When we’re angry at injustice, or at ourself, at our limits, at the world, at others, we can awaken the vitality that opens us up to being more present, more alive, more awake.
And then we anchor into our integrity to counterbalance whatever imbalance it is we’re witnessing.
Anger reminds us that we’re the medicine.
No punishment required.
Anger reminds us that we are the nectar, the seed, the fruit, the witness.
So as we breathe in this red energy from the center of our chest, we’re going to silently echo:
Vitality.
Inside of our own mind.
Vitality.
Vitality.
As we exhale now, we’re going to add a white light.
We inhale red.
We exhale white.
The white exhalation is proof of our integration.
We take that red color back, we bring it back into our bones, and we exhale something pure and healed back into the world.
That thing we exhale is:
Integrity.
We’re going to rest easy and play in some rounds of this.
Inhale vitality.
Exhale integrity.
Red vitality.
White integrity.
Red vitality.
White integrity.
Get lost in this, my beautiful friend.
Dance in it.
Play in it.
Let your imagination go a bit wild.
When you go off the rails or downloads begin to come in, or your mind wanders off into what’s for dinner later, just dance on back.
Bright red vitality.
White platinum light.
Integrity.
Let’s play, my sweet friend.
I’ll be right here with you doing the very same.
Here we go.
[Silent interlude]
My sweet friend, beautiful.
Vitality.
Integrity.
Vitality.
Integrity.
Gorgeous.
Let this be in your back pocket or your front pocket for any moment of anger, irrespective of where it’s directed or what triggers it.
Take a nice, smooth inhale in through your nose and let it go through your mouth. In through your nose, out through your mouth. In nose, out mouth.
Glorious.
And when you’re ready, let that awareness go and flutter those beautiful eyelids open to greet what?
Your world, my sweet friend.
Your world.
The mirror, that big old mirror.
Anytime you don’t like what you see or feel, bring yourself right back here to what my teacher David G would call the gap.
All the energy of anyone who’s ever meditated, including me and all of our family here, is in the gap.
That includes millions of folks across time and space, from saints and mystics to the mysterious, to even the non-human.
But the most important thing it contains is you in your true form, the white light of awareness.
And you have the balm for any moment, for anything that might be offered to you as an invitation to react, or freeze, or weep.
You have access to infinity, always.
And resting there, that’s what changes the mirror.
Until we meet again, I’m sending you all of the love that I’ve got.
It’s always more.
It’s never ever less.
Because you, my dear sweet friend, you’re so very worthy of it.
I love you big.
Bye for now.
