What Are You Willing to Be Uncomfortable For?

This guided meditation explores purpose through devotion, asking not only what you desire, but what you are willing to be uncomfortable for in order to move toward it. If you’re looking for a grounding heart-centered practice to help you clarify what matters, quiet the mind, and invite your next step to emerge naturally, this meditation offers a gentle space to listen inward. Breathe, soften, and allow alignment to take root without force.

Hello, beautiful soul, and welcome to Meditate with Mandy. I’m Mandy, and it is my honor and privilege to share space with you today.

Wherever you are, go ahead and get cozy, get comfy. I mean it. Grab a blanket, grab a pillow, lie down, sit down, levitate, and settle into the moment.

Today, if you are holding space with this moment at the time it’s published, we’ve just entered a new month, new vibes, and a bright full moon to bring it all home. So today, we’re holding space with a very special subject near and dear to all of our hearts. With that being said, we’re going to need as much comfort as possible.

When you’re ready, and not a moment before, flutter those beautiful eyelids closed and take a nice, smooth inhale in through your nose. Let it go through your mouth.

And repeat.

Take a smooth, deep inhale through your nose, and let it go through your mouth. Inhale through your nose, and let it go through your mouth. One last time like this: take a deep, slower inhale through your nose, and release it easily through your mouth.

Now switch to nose-only breathing, in through your nose and out through your nose, following your body’s own pace and your body’s own tempo.

Bring your attention and your awareness to the center of your chest, breathing right into this space in the middle of your sternum. You can place a hand here if it’s helpful, right between the pectoral muscles.

As if you had eyes to see and ears to hear right here in this heart space, breathe intentionally. Imagine the space filling with the white light of awareness as you inhale and exhale.

Just breathe easily here for a moment as I speak, letting these words wash over you.

So often, we think about the things we desire from the perspective of how they will enhance our lives. Money would make life simpler, maybe more restful, or so we think. Amazing health would take away our aches and pains. The perfect partner would eliminate our loneliness, and the list goes on.

But today, we bring our awareness to something different:

What is it in your life that you are willing to feel discomfort for?

For this is the very quality that highlights our purpose.

What are you actually willing to suffer for, sweat for, spend evenings alone for, weep for, and devote energy and time to beyond what is comfortable?

There is no need to identify it right away or to let the mind commandeer the experience because, believe you me, my sweet friend, it will. Instead, we’re going to rest with this contemplation for a few moments and see what rises.

I invite you to allow the dream or vision to rise into the center of your chest: the thing you would be willing to be uncomfortable for, in which the discomfort would not even feel like discomfort. It would feel like fuel. It would feel like inspiration.

Spend a few moments here.

I’ll be right here with you, breathing alongside you, and we’ll come back together in a few moments.

Here we go.

Beautiful, my sweet friend. Beautiful.

Maybe you saw a vision. Maybe you had a feeling. Maybe you experienced squat and the mind just wandered around. All of this is perfect. All of it is part of the process.

Simply slowing down and asking the question is the magic.

Now bring your awareness back to the center of your chest, back to the area we identified, and imagine an opening here. Feel into the breath as you inhale and exhale through your nose.

Imagine a portal, a space that can magnetize.

As we breathe for the next few moments, we’re going to invite in alignment: the next action to take, the next seed to plant, the next lean toward our vision.

We’re not going to intellectually decide on a step. We’re going to bring ourselves into a calm space and ask intentionally that we simply find ourselves aligning naturally after we leave this meditation, perhaps even by surprise, rather than forcing a step that the mind creates.

If you didn’t receive a vision or even an idea of what you’re willing to be uncomfortable for, then we’re going to use this moment to open to whatever that may be.

If the mind wanders away, as it very likely will, then when you realize it has wandered, simply bring it right back to the center of the chest and breathe. Fill your lungs, release the breath, and anchor back in.

You may repeat this many times, and that’s perfect. We’re strengthening the awareness muscle.

No matter what happens here in practice, know that the intention is what carries the magic.

So settle in, breathe easily, and allow alignment to implant itself in you.

I’ll be right here doing the same, breathing with you, and I’ll call us back together when it’s time.

Here we go.

Beautiful, my sweet friend. Beautiful.

Take a nice, smooth inhale in through your nose. Make a small O with your lips and breathe out nice and slowly through your mouth.

Let’s go again. In through your nose, make a small O, and breathe out through your mouth.

Last one: breathe in through your nose, then smoothly out through your mouth.

Perfect.

Return to breathing in and out through your nose, and let it all go. Let go of the grip on your awareness, and let go of any wondering about whether or not you did that correctly.

You did. You showed up, and that’s what doing it correctly is.

Let go of any expectations and enter the glorious now moment.

The seed of intention has been planted. You will find yourself leaning into alignment without even realizing it.

For the rest of your day or night, simply carry yourself with the knowing that the greater intelligence, whether you call that the divine, the subconscious mind, or the pattern itself, is steering you toward precision with the lifestyle, behavior, and awareness that most nourishes and nurtures you.

And you’re not alone for a single moment of it.

When the moment is right and you’re ready, flutter those beautiful eyelids open and greet your world, if you have eyes to see.

It’s your world, my sweet friend. It’s your dream. Let it mirror the magnificence of you.

Until we meet again, I’m sending you all of the love that I’ve got.

It’s always more, and it’s never less, because you, my dear friend, are so very worthy of it.

Bye for now.
